SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD
• to believe there's someone else who could be •
JUST AS MESSED UP AS ME
I stumbled up the stairs the three boxes I was carrying almost fell as I did. I couldn't see where I was walking so I ran into a few walls along the way. I finally finished the five flights of stairs and found myself in a busy hallway. New students were trying to find their dorm rooms, those who have been to this school for awhile were catching up with their old friends. I tried to find my way to my dorm.
Room 203. Okay um.. 200, 201, 202- there! 203
I set the boxes down and reached into my back pocket for my keys. They were tiny and silver. I slipped it into the key hole and unlocked the door. I carried my things into the empty room. It wasn't very big and there were two beds on each side of the room along with two dressers and two desks. So far my roommate had not arrived yet so I began to settle myself in. I started to unpack my clothes, then my books, then the other junk I wanted to bring with me. I made my bed and checked the clock. It took me about an hour and most of the girls in the hall were already done also, but still no roommate.
I decided to sit on my bed and play on my phone until she arrived.
A few hours had past and I accidentally fell asleep I woke up with a jolt. No one was there. I looked out my window and the sun was just barely setting. I got up and decided to take a walk around the building. Many girls were roaming like me, too.
I walked down the stairs into the lobby of the dormitories. Their was a ping pong table, a couch and a television, and a dining hall to the left of the door.
This is pretty nice, I must say.
I thought as I walked up to a vending machine and bought myself a soda.I took a few gulps then headed back to my room.
Once I to my room it was still empty. I grabbed my phone and called the school office.
"Um, yes, this is Julia Key. I'm calling to ask if I was scheduled to have a roommate this year."
I waited as the women working there checked some files, or something like that.
"Yes? Well, okay thanks for letting me know."
I hit the end call button and tossed my phone on my bed. I sat at my desk waiting for my roommate to show up.
